Analysis of Prospective Mathematics Teachers’ Critical Thinking Disposition Based on Self-Confidence

The disposition of critical thinking plays an important role for teachers, particularly in responding to mathematical problems. However, several studies have shown that the think critically is still low. This descriptive-qualitative research aims analyze and describe prospective mathematics teachers’ dispositions based on their self-confidence. Three subjects were selected from a total 25 teachers who given self-confidence questionnaire, with very good, poor criteria. Data collection was conducted by administering test Problems With No Specified Universal Set Given (PWNSUS) type conducting interviews. results this indicate influences disposition. Prospective good fulfill components disposition, namely systematicity, self-confidence, inquisitiveness, open-mindedness, analyticity. Meanwhile, only inquisitiveness Two three unable achieve two components, truth maturity, which can be developed through various exercises.
